About Penny and Bretica Reg'd

My Name is Penny Lewis and I have been in this sport of training and showing dogs since the age of 4. I have been a CKC member in good standing since 1992. My mother, Donna Lewis of Donayne Perm Reg'd bought her first purebred dog in 1976. Elsa was a Rough Collie that mom did Obedience with and also Scent Hurdle Racing. Mom then jumped into the show ring. Mom bred some of Canadas Top winning ML Dachshunds and Keeshonds in the 80's and 90's. I was a Dogshow Brat that followed mom around to all the shows. My first time in PeWee handling I borrowed Loretta Cozmans Elkhound, Leaf. I was hooked and the rest is history. Looking back at the Lewis history in dogs is quite amazing and makes me very proud to say it made me who I am today. The people I have met and grew up with in this dog world are friends for life and we all enjoy these wounderful animals more and more as years go by. I could not imagine my life without dogs. I have been blessed with showing some of Canada's Top Dogs in their Breed, Groups, Multi Best In Shows. puppy shows and specialty wins. This is a good hobby/sport....there is always ups and downs but nothing will ever take me away from this sport.....life would not be the same without it. Every hurdle is a new learning experience. I also enjoy Volunteering Judging Junior Handling. Juniors walk in my ring with a smile and leave my ring with a smile. I try to teach every Junior something while they are in my ring. Juniors are our future and I will help them as much as I can to enjoy this hobbie as much as I do. Bretica Reg'd came to be in 1997 by matching my 2 childrens names together, Brett and Jessica. I also volunteer my time writing for Canine Review Magazine as the Saskatchewan Columnist. This magazine is distributed all over Canada and the USA. Also can be purchased at any Coles Book Store.
Update for 2009
I am now taking a new step in the Dogshow world and will work towards my Judges licence. This year I will be voluntering my time to a few shows ringstewerding, judging Sweepstakes and Sanction Matches.
Bretica is now a Breeder of American and Canadian BEST IN SHOW winners, Canadian Best In Specialty Show winners, Reserve Winners Dog at American National (2009) Reserve Winners Dog at Canadian National (2008), Winners Bitch Canadian National (2008) and Best Of Winners Canadian National (2008).
